Men's Lacrosse Falls in Season Opener at Anderson University

(ANDERSON, Ind.) – It was the season debut Wednesday night for the Wilmington College men's lacrosse team as they traveled north to Anderson University for a matchup with the Ravens. The Quakers dropped the game 11-4 and fall to 0-1 to begin the season. Nick Roca and Kegan Campbell led the Wilmington offense with two goals each. They will be back in action Saturday afternoon at Hanover College.

The Ravens took a 3-0 lead after the first quarter, with the Quakers taking four shots in the period. Wilmington took advantage of a man up opportunity in the second quarter, as sophomore Nick Roca sent an unassisted strike into the back of the net to cut the lead to 3-1 with 11:04 remaining in the half. The Quakers would find the back of the net two more times in the second quarter, with one goal coming from junior Kegan Campbell and another one coming from Roca. They went into the half trailing 5-3.

The Quakers didn't score in the third quarter and went down 8-3 heading into the final period. They took five shots in the third quarter. The final period saw Wilmington outshoot Anderson 12-6. They found the back of the net one more time with 3:13 remaining on a shot from Campbell.
