Men's Lacrosse Falls to Otterbein

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team fell to Otterbein University 17-2 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action from Williams Stadium on Saturday.

The Cardinals scored nine goals in the first two periods to jump ahead and keep the Fightin' Quakers at a distance. Otterbein continues to pressure as the second half began, scoring the first five goals to put the game away. Both of Wilmington's goals came in the final period as Garrett Murrell scored unassisted with 10:09 to play and Austin Bondurant scored unassisted with 4:04 to play.

Reed Beavers took the loss in net, allowing 17 goals with 17 saves on 34 shots faced while Zach Groene didn't allow a goal in the first half of action.

Otterbein held distinctive advantages in shots (61-6), face-offs won (16-6) and ground balls (24-15). The Cardinals were also a perfect 13-of-13 in clear attempts while the Quakers tallied a 14-of-26 performance in the same category.

Wilmington (0-2) travels to Baldwin Wallace University next Saturday.
