WILMINGTON, Ohio – After two road games and bye week, the Wilmington College football team finally gets to play at home as the Fightin' Quakers host Muskingum University in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at Williams Stadium on Saturday. The 2 p.m. kickoff is the centerpiece of homecoming weekend at the College.
The Teams: Wilmington and Muskingum. The Fightin' Quakers are 1-1 overall after dropping their OAC opener 49-16 at Ohio Northern University (ONU) last weekend. Wilmington won its opening game of the 2018 season 49-7 at Earlham College. The Fighting Muskies stand 1-2 on the season including 0-2 in OAC play after losing to Marietta College 46-20 last Saturday. Muskingum also lost to ONU, 42-14, along with defeating Waynesburg 31-24 in the season-opener.
The Coaches: Bryan Moore, a 1999 graduate of Hiram College, begins his second season leading Wilmington's football program. Moore began instilling his vision on WC last year which led to victories over Earlham and Capital. Previously, he spent time at both Bluffton University and Heidelberg University. Erik leuter, a graduate of Albion College, is in his first season as Muskingum's head football coach.
The Offense: Kyle Barrett guides the Wilmington offense as he averages over 264 yards per game through the air along with throwing for four touchdowns. A trio of Quakers – DJ Chambers, Malik Sims and Aaron Johnston – all rush for over 38 yards per contest while Ace Taylor has been Wilmington's top receiver through two games, grabbing seven passes for 158 yards. Brody Hahn is Muskingum's primary signal caller and throws for over 227 yards per game. Also the leading rusher for the Muskies, Hahn and Cameron Near both average over 45 yards per contest on the ground while Terry Geiger has hauled in 13 receptions for 224 yards and two scores.
The Defense: Tre'Quez Parks, Dusty Lykins and Kyle Ackley all have over 10 tackles for Wilmington. Weston Trampler leads the team in tackles for loss with four and sacks with four. Lykins also has the Quakers long interception of the year thus far while Que Taylor forced a fumble against ONU that Tavion Bryant recovered. Brandon Schon leads the Muskies defensive with 29 tackles while Tim Ousley has two sacks and seven tackles for loss.

Series History: Wilmington is 7-11 against Muskingum since the turn of the century. The Muskies have won the last nine contests including a 37-7 victory on Nov. 12, 2016, the last time the two teams played at Williams Stadium.
