Women's Swimming Tallies Eight Consolation Final Appearances at OAC Championships on Friday

AKRON, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's swimming team had eight finals performances on the second full day of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Swimming and Diving Championships hosted at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium on Friday.

Four Fightin' Quakers qualified for the consolation final of the 100-yard backstroke including Sierra Szuhay, Anna Endsley, Ashley Carlson and Adrienne Reynek. Szhuay took fourth in the event with a time of 1:04.50 while teammates Endsley (1:05.23) and Carlson (1:05.48) finished right behind the sophomore. Reynek, a freshman, took eighth by touching the wall in 1:12.42.

Maryn Herring, swimming in her final OAC Championships as a senior, took fifth in the consolation final of the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.41 while Audrey Bibb placed fifth in the consolation final of the 200-yard freestyle with a mark of 2:07.01. Lilly Lentine and Kenzie Danoff rounded out the individual performances with an eighth-place finishes in the consolation final of the 400-yard IM (5:44.07) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.18) respectively.

In the one relay of the evening, the 200-yard medley, Szuhay, Danhoff, Herring and Endsley placed fifth with a time of 1:59.18.

The final day of the 2022 OAC Championships begin tomorrow (Saturday) with preliminaries at 10 a.m.
