UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's swimming team fell victim to John Carroll University by a score of 168-57 in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual meet on Friday afternoon.

Macki Leon took home the Fightin' Quakers' victory with a great swim of 1:03.15 in the 100-yard backstroke, winning the event by less than half a second. The senior also took runner-up honors in the 200-yard IM (2:20.40) and teamed up with Audrey Bibb, Hannah Davis and Margaret Hover to turn in a time of 2:54.35 and finish second in the 400-yard medley relay.

Emma Thompson had one of her best swims in the 1,000-yard freestyle, dropping a full 30 seconds from her swim a couple of weeks ago to take second with a time of 12:10.30.

"We are very grateful to have a third date of competition," Head Women's Swimming Coach Trip Breen said. "Everyone is fatigued from a couple solid weeks of practice. That said, we still had several lifetime-best performances, which will help confidence grow. We are looking forward to celebrating our seniors in the last dual of the season."

That dual, against Baldwin Wallace University, is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27.
