WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team (2-11, 0-5) will travel to Marietta on Good Friday to take on the Pioneers (2-10, 0-5) at 5:00 pm.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. Both the Quakers and the Pioneers have had snakebitten seasons so far and Friday is a golden opportunity for the Quakers to go into Easter break celebrating a victory.

The Coaches: Wilmington has new leadership in the form of Head Coach Garyck Todd. The 2016 WC alumnus was a four-year member of the program and was a part of the team's first winning season (9-7) in 2015. He previously served as the head coach at Pickerington Central High School for the past three seasons. Shawn Runyon enters his fourth season as head men's lacrosse coach at Marietta College in 2021-22. Marietta posted a 4-9 record in 2021 and won a program-high three OAC games finishing 3-6 in conference play. Two Pioneers earned All-OAC recognition including face off specialist Nathan Grover (second team) and defender Zach Rush (honorable mention). Marietta started the 2020 season with a 3-4 record before COVID-19 ended season.

The Players: Austin Young leads the Quaker offense with 14 goals. Connor Ficke is the engine that drives the Pioneer offense, he has tallied 22 goals and 14 assists this season. If the Quakers are able to control Connor they will have a chance in this game.

Series History: Wilmington and Marietta. The series history is still in its infancy with only two matchups to date. Marietta has the early series lead with a 2-0 advantage.
