35 Student Athletes Named to Fall Academic All-OAC Team

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced their 2023 Fall Academic All-OAC members this morning and Wilmington College had 35 student-athletes on the list across six different sports.

Football had the most players with 14, while women's soccer had eight, women's volleyball had six, men's soccer and men's cross country had three, and women's cross country had one. To be eligible for this honor, you must be a sophomore or above in class standing, have varsity status, and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or above.

Football's 14 honorees tie for the most during their time in the OAC with the 2022 team. These players are junior Dallas Rawlings, sophomore Logan Lovins, junior Noah Perry, sophomore Austin Newman, sophomore Jackson Combs, sophomore Tim Lewellen, senior Derek Larimer, senior Dillon Howard, senior Eli Brock, senior Kaleb Easley, sophomore Lucas Breniser, senior Riley Hubbard, senior Wyatt Lykins, and senior Zac Schmidt.

This is the third time being named for Howard, Brock, and Lykins. It is the second time for Rawlings, Perry, Larimer, Easley, Hubbard, and Schmidt. It is the first honor for Lovins, Newman, Combs, Lewellen, and Breniser.

The eight honorees for women's soccer are sophomore Jada Pohlen, junior Josie Faris, sophomore Heidi Toner, sophomore Maura Carr, sophomore Rylee Schertzinger, senior Elizabeth Matthews, senior Ema Menges, and senior Haley Fulton. It is the third honor for Matthews, Menges, and Fulton while being the first for Pohlen, Faris, Toner, Carr, and Schertzinger.

Sophomore Aubrey Speakman, sophomore Corissa Oeder, junior Andie Dolven, senior Sofia Thomas, junior Trinity Van Dusen, and senior Victoria Long were the honorees from the women's volleyball team. Long has been honored three times during her career while VanDusen, Thomas, and Dolven have all been honored twice. It is the first honor for Speakman and Oeder.

The honorees from men's soccer are junior Alfie Harris, sophomore Connor Neidemire, and senior Gabriel Swaisgood. Being honored for the third time in his Quakers career is Swaisgood, while Harris has been honored twice and it is the first honor for Neidemire.

The four athletes from the cross-country programs are junior Noah Tobin, senior Patrick Bay, senior Simon Heys, and junior Sarah Balliett. Bay has been honored four times, while it is Heys third honor, and Tobin's second. Balliett is being honored for the first time in her career.
