Volleyball falls to Marietta

MARIETTA - The Wilmington College volleyball team fell to Marietta Saturday in Ohio Athletic Conference in straight sets, 25-5, 25-15, 25-17.

After getting off to a slow start by recording just one kill in the first set, the Fightin' Quakers improved as the match went along. They improved their hitting percentage as the match progressed.

Junior Ashley Miller (Arcanum, OH/Franklin Monroe) and sophomore Tabby Biegler (Columbus, OH/Briggs) each recorded five kills to lead Wilmington.

Sophomore Ariana Neff (Naples, FL/Gulf Coast) recorded 13 of Wilmington's 19 assists, while Beigler added 17 digs and freshman Elizabeth Carter (Mount Orab, OH/Western Brown) recorded 12 digs.



Wilmington (1-17 overall, 0-7 OAC) returns home 7 p.m. Tuesday, hosting Ohio Northern in Ohio Athletic Conference action.
