With their backs to the wall, trailing 2-1 to Ohio Christian, sophomore Tabby Biegler decided enough was enough.

Biegler (Columbus, OH/Briggs) kicked off the fourth set with a kill and back-to-back service aces en route to registering seven kills and six service aces over the final two sets as Wilmington recorded its first win of the season – coming back to beat the Trail Blazers, 20-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-20, 15-10, Tuesday at Hermann Court in front of a small, but raucous student section.

The sophomore outside hitter finished with a season-high 20 kills on 40 attempts with a .341 hitting percentage. She also led the team with the aforementioned six service aces and 12 digs.

In the game-changing fourth set, Wilmington got off to a quick lead before Ohio Christian stormed back to knot the game at five. But once again it was Biegler that was in the middle of the emotional rally. The Quakers reclaimed the lead on an OCU error, and then Biegler added a block and kill to give WC a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

The fifth set remained tight throughout, and Wilmington trailed 10-9 before scoring the last six points. Biegler has two kills and a service ace in those final six points.

Freshman Catlin Pauley added nine kills, while junior Natalie Sparks recorded eight kills, nine digs, four block solos and four block assists. Sophomore Ariana Neff dished out 35 assists to direct the Wilmington offense.

Wilmington (1-13) travels to Capital 7 p.m. October 15 for an Ohio Athletic Conference match.
