The Wilmington College women’s track & field team garnered the All-Academic Team Award, handed out by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday.
Academic All-Conference selections have at least a cumulative 3.5 grade-point average (GPA) at the end of the semester preceding the end of the spring season. The student-athlete must also be a member of a varsity team as well as be enrolled in a full-time capacity.
WILMINGTON, Ohio – The 2020 calendar year saw something that collegiate athletics has not experienced in a long time. Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Wilmington College, the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) and the NCAA as a whole shut down operations of intercollegiate athletics in March for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year.

The two-day event, Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, Feb. 29, is scheduled to begin with field events in the morning followed by track events in the afternoon. Friday’s action kicks off with field events at noon followed by track events at 4 p.m. The meet concludes with 10 a.m. field events and 2:30 p.m. track events on Saturday.

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Wilmington College women’s track & field team rung in the New Year with a fifth-place finish at the Pioneer Open hosted by Marietta College on Saturday.
Rupert, who added vice president for athletic administration to his title in 2007, will also remain in that role this semester as he transitions into becoming a full-time faculty member with the sport management program, which he started in 1998.
