Murphy earns All-OAC

BEREA – The Wilmington College women's track & field team scored 24 points, and placed ninth of 10 teams at the 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference outdoor championships.

"I was really pleased with the women's team," said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. "We have such a small group, but they battled really hard all weekend. We will be a much better team next year."

Junior Sarah Murphy (West Liberty, OH/West Liberty Salem) finished third in the 400 meter hurdle (1:08.18) to earn All-OAC honors. She joins sophomore Marissa Bolen (Gibsonburg, OH/Gibsonburg), who earned All-OAC honors in the shot put Friday.

"Sarah Murphy ran a great race in the 400 hurdles," said Combs. "She has fought injuries all season and really came through."

Bolen followed up her All-OAC performance in the shot put to throw a personal best in the discus. She just missed earned all-league honors with a fourth place finish with a distance of 36.40 meters.

Freshman Angela Dorsett (Pittsburgh, PA/West Mifflin) added a personal best in the triple jump with the distance of 10.13 meters.
