Four earn All-OAC honors

AUSTINTOWN – The Ohio Athletic Conference released its 2013 All-OAC Women's Soccer team today (November 13), as voted on by the league coaches, and four Wilmington College players were honored.

Senior Rachel Gutowski (Petoskey, MI/Petoskey), junior Camille Gentile (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) and sophomore Rachelle Bowen (Xenia, OH/Xenia) all earned second team honors. Senior Jenni Marck (Wyoming, OH/Wyoming) was named honorable mention.

"I am proud of our players receiving OAC awards," said WC head coach Steve Spirk. "We know that for our players to be recognized it is always a team effort."

It marks the third consecutive season Gutowski has earned second-team laurels, and the fourth time she earned All-OAC recognition. She was an honorable mention selection as a freshman. She led the team with five assists this season.

Gentile, who earned honorable mention recognition last season, made the most of her three goals this season as two were of the game-winning variety for the Fightin' Quakers.

After being a key reserve for Wilmington a season ago, Bowen moved to the starting lineup and led WC with 15 points on a team-high seven goals and one assist. She finished with two game-winning goals this season.

Marck had a great start to the season and finished second on the team with six goals, four of which were game-winners.

Wilmington finished the season 11-7, and missed the OAC tournament by losing the tiebreaker to Mount Union.
