OAC honors Marck

Wilmington College women's soccer player Jenni Marck has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference women's soccer Player of the Week, announced by the league today (September 9).

Marck (Cincinnati, OH/Wyoming) scored twice with one assist as Wilmington won its home opener, beating St. Mary's Saturday, 3-0. She scored the Quakers only first half goal, and then capped the scoring with a goal in the second half.

"I am very excited that Jenni Marck has been named OAC Player of the Week," said head coach Steve Spirk. "She had a very strong performance against Wittenberg, and an outstanding match versus St. Mary's with two goals and an assist. This is how you want seniors to play."

She becomes the first WC athlete this season to earn a weekly honor from the OAC, and the first women's soccer player since Camille Gentile earned the award on October 1, 2012.

Wilmington (2-1-1) will host Mount St. Joseph 7 p.m. Wednesday at Charlie Gilhart Field in non-conference action.
