TWINSBURG, OH – The Wilmington College women's soccer team had three players selected to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference team as selected by the coaches, the league announced today (November 8, 2012).

Senior Sarah Watters (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) and junior Rachel Gutowski (Petoskey, MI/Petoskey) earned second-team honors for the second straight season, while sophomore Camille Gentile (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) was named honorable mention.

Gutowski, who is a three-time honoree, also earned honorable mention laurels as a freshman. A team captain, the defender started all 19 games she played in. The junior finished the season with three goals, two of which were game winners, and three assists.

"Rachel is obviously the anchor, backbone of the defense," said head coach Steve Spirk. "We recorded nine shutouts and she had a lot to do with it. She is also a threat to score on our set pieces."

For the second consecutive season, Watters led the Lady Quakers in goals and points. With the six goals this season, she finishes her WC career with 16 goals. Her three assists were tied for second best on the team. Watters added two game-winning goals this season.

"She had some big goals in conference games we needed to win," said Spirk. "It was a good senior year for her."

Gentile was one of three players to start all 20 games, and one of four players to appear in all 20 games for Wilmington. She was third on the team with four goals, but it was defense in the midfield that was key for the Lady Quakers.

"I think Camille has made some great strides in her game," said Spirk. "She has scored and assisted on some goals, but she has stepped up defensively, marked players and organized the midfield. When you shutout nine opponents, it's not just the defenders. Her being named honorable mention is a sign of things to come."

Wilmington opened the season with seven straight games without a loss and sets school record with six consecutive shutouts to start the season. The Lady Quakers fell to eventual champion Ohio Northern in the quarterfinals of the OAC tournament and finished 12-7-1.
