Lady Quakers rack up athletic, academic honors

The Wilmington College women's soccer team continues to rack up honors for their exploits on the pitch and in the classroom.

Senior Sarah Watters (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) was named second team All-Ohio, while juniors Camille Gentile (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) and Rachel Gutowski (Petosky, MI/Petosky) earned third team honors.

Gutowski was joined by senior Kayla Falkenbach (Springfield, OH/Greenon) as second team All-Ohio academic selections, while Gentile and junior Bonnie Grace (Wyoming, OH/Wyoming) earned third team distinction.

"Top players on the soccer field and top students in their class," said head coach Steve Spirk. "Rachel, Kayla, Bonnie, and Camille all have what you are looking for in a college soccer player."

Wilmington opened the season with seven straight games without a loss and sets school record with six consecutive shutouts to start the season. The Lady Quakers fell to eventual champion Ohio Northern in the quarterfinals of the OAC tournament and finished 12-7-1.
