Gentile earns OAC weekly award

AUSTINTOWN, OH – Wilmington College sophomore Camille Gentile (Brownsburg, IN/Brownsburg) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference's (OAC) Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending September 30, the league announced today (October 1).

Gentile helped the Fightin' Quakers open OAC play with a resounding 8-0 victory over Muskingum Saturday. She made the most of her two shots as they both found the back of the net. It was the midfielder's first two goals of the season.

She becomes the first WC athlete this season to earn a weekly honor from the OAC.

"Camille is our 'little general' in the midfield," said Wilmington head coach Steve Spirk. "She works hard, reads the game and is a tough competitor. She had a great week."

Wilmington (8-2-1 overall, 1-0 OAC) has already set WC's modern day records for shutouts, and will return to the pitch 4 p.m. Wednesday at Heidelberg.
