Women's lax falls to Transy

Seniors Sarah Watters (Cincinnati, OH/Turpin) and Kelli Jo Haley (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington) each scored a goal for Wilmington as the Lady Quakers fell to Transylvania, 16-2, Saturday at Williams Stadium.

The Pioneers outshot Wilmington, 46-14, and won the groundball battle, 39-14. Transylvania scored eight goals in each period as the Lady Quakers scored a goal in each half.

Watters unleashed a team-high four shots, while Haley and junior Sammy Koerner (Fairfield, OH/Hamilton Badin) got off three shots each. Sophomore Karalyn Brown (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) recorded 24 saves in the loss.

Wilmington (0-2) will look for its first win of the season when the Lady Quakers travel to Franciscan Friday.
