COLUMBUS – When the next class of the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame gets inducted on May 17, it will have a WC flavor to it.

Head coach Jerry Scheve is one of 15 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to round ball in the Buckeye state going into the Hall of the Fame. Joining him will be the 2004 National Championship team as they are one of two teams being added to the Hall.

Scheve has won more than 400 games in his 23 seasons on the Wilmington sideline. His teams have been the epitome of competitive, winning eight regular season and seven conference tournament titles. The 2003-04 national championship season was preceded by three National Tournament appearances that included trips to the "Elite Eight" and "Sweet 16" in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Wilmington advanced to the second round of the 2007 NCAA Tournament and returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2008.

He also has been named Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year, Ohio Women's Basketball Coach of the Year, and Coach of the Year in the AMC, HCAC and OAC.

The Ninth Annual Hall of Fame Induction ceremony will take place at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Tickets are $80 each, and can be purchased HERE.

Eight former players, four other coaches, an official and a pioneer for women's college athletics will have their names added to the distinguished group of honorees.

Former players Dean Chance, Helen Darling, Henry Finkel, Dennis Hopson, D'Artis Jones, Campy Russell, Georgia Schweitzer Beasley and Nick Weatherspoon will join college administrator Helen Ludwig, and coaches Brian Agler, Vince Chickerella, Walter Harrop and Ed Jucker as individuals to be honored.

Wright State University's 1983 NCAA Men's Division II national champion team will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
