OAC Tournament Preview: Capital

The Wilmington College women's basketball team won't have any time to bask in the glow of its first round victory over Heidelberg Monday as they return to the court 7:30 p.m. Tuesday against fourth-seeded Capital.

The Crusaders swept the season series, winning in Bexley 68-59 and in Wilmington, 80-66.

"They are a different team than they were earlier in the season," said Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve. "It gives them more dimensions that you have to guard. They are very difficult team for us to match up with; they have depth. They are as good as anybody in this league."

Sophomore Simonne Gage averaged 20 points in the two wins over the Fightin' Quakers as the starters did most of the damage, scoring 83 percent of the team's points.

Seniors Jamie Caton and Cookie Geroski are leading the team with 12.5 and 12.1 points, respectively, with sophomore Kristen Thompson leading the team with 6.5 rebounds. Geroski is second on the team with 5.5 boards per game.
