After suffering a resounding loss to Baldwin Wallace Saturday, the Wilmington women's basketball team faces another stout test 7:30 p.m. Wednesday as they travel to Capital.

The Crusaders are unbeaten in the league, including a 67-58 victory over Baldwin Wallace. It was also Capital's first home win of the season.

"It's a big test for us," said Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve. "We are playing good basketball and got beaten soundly Saturday. It a test to see if can come back and compete against a good Capital team."

Capital wants to start its offense through its post players, with senior Jamie Caton getting most of the love. She is leading the team in points with 15.9 per game, and is averaging more than 20 points in the last five games. In those contests, the Crusaders are 4-1.

Caton, who is the reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week, has taken a team-high 107 shots and has been to the foul line a team-high 46 times. Her 5.9 free throws attempts per game is fourth in the OAC. She is also second on the team with 21 assists and third with 5.4 rebounds.

The only other player averaging double figures is sophomore post player Kristen Thompson with 10.8 points. She pulls down a team-high 6.0 boards per game. The Crusaders are 4-0 on the season with she scores at least nine points.

"They run their offense through all of the post players," said Scheve. "They want to pound it inside, no doubt. Everyone they bring in the game are good scoring post players. We will have to limit the damage inside."

Senior guard Cookie Geroski is second on the team in shots with 90, and has taken more than half of Capital's three-point shots. Although she is getting her fair share of attempts, Geroski is only shooting 25.6 percent from the field, and 22.9 percent from three-point range. She is third on the team with 9.4 points per game and third with 20 assists.

Junior Monica Heckman is second on the team with 5.6 rebounds, while sophomore guard Simonne Gauge leads the team with 22 assists.

Wilmington hopes to put Saturday loss in which they scored a season-low 39 points behind them.

"We have had two good practices," said Scheve. "I think we have practices longer that we normally do this time of year. We have worked offensively and defensively to be prepared to play tomorrow."
