Coming off a home loss to Otterbein, the Lady Quakers are looking to get back on track with road games against two ranked teams. Wilmington is 0-2 this season against ranked teams. The defeat also created a logjam of four 5-2 teams, including Saturday's opponent, Mount Union.  

Mount Union, which rose all the way to second in the nation, has lost three of the last five games after opening the season 9-0.

The Purple Raiders are led by reigning OAC Player of the Year Rosa Lamattina, who is third in the Ohio Athletic Conference in scoring with 17.1 points per game. She has scored in double figures in all but one game, including a career-high 38 points against Baldwin-Wallace.

"She is a talented scorer with high Division I quickness," said Scheve.

Otterbein used its full-court pressure to slow down the game and then dropped back into a zone defense that left Wilmington befuddled. Now the Lady Quakers will force full-court pressure designed to create turnovers and easy baskets. Wilmington hasn't faced this type of pressure since the last time they played the Purple Raiders.

Not only will Mount Union, which is sixth in the OAC, forcing 17.9 turnovers, supply defensive pressure for the entire length of the court – they will vary its defensive pressures.

Scheve wasn't pleased with how his team played in Wednesday's loss, and knows how to remedy it.

"We have to, I know its sounds like a cliché, play harder and play smarter than in our last game," said Scheve. "I don't think the effort was there."

Wednesday's game marked the second time this season no player reached double figures as junior Makenzie Wippel (Orient, OH/Westfall) scored a team-high nine points. In her two starts this season, Wippel is averaging 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds.

It marked the first time this season, sophomore Spencer Robles (Clyde, OH/Clyde) failed to reach double figures in a home game, while senior Brianna Peters (Alexandria, KY/Campbell County) was limited to just four shots, scoring four points.

Peters still leads the team in scoring with 10.1 points and Robles is second with 9.0 ppg.
