The Wilmington College women's basketball is ready to return to the place that hosted their worst loss of the 2011-12 season, Muskingum. The Muskies dealt WC a 25-point loss on February 8, and the Lady Quakers are bound to ensure that doesn't happen again. Wilmington faces MC Wednesday with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m.  

"They embarrassed us up there last year, and if we are not ready to play, they could do it again," said head Jerry Scheve.

Muskingum comes into the game on a four-game losing skid after falling to Otterbein Saturday, 65-53. The Muskies feature one of the best players in the league in senior Hannah Nelson. She recorded 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting with five rebounds in the loss to Otterbein. Nelson is second in the league with 17.5 points and is third with 7.6 rebounds. She is also ranked in shooting percentage, making 51 percent of her shots - good for fourth place.

While Nelson is the primary weapon for the Muskies, Muskingum isn't a one-player show. Freshman Karen Sidwell is adding 10.5 points for the Muskies, while Tori Jarrett is recording 9.9 points per game.

"There other people can beat us, they are not an one-person team," said Scheve.

Scheve said Muskingum's newly utilized four-guard lineup could pose some problems for the Lady Quakers. The main problem may come on the defensive end. In the first meeting, senior LeAnn Topp (New Bremen, OH/New Bremen) defended Nelson, and held her just 10 points. Topp was able to defend Nelson because the Muskies had another post player on the court.

With Nelson moving to the lone post, the task of slowing her down could be turned to senior Brianna Peters (Alexandria, KY/Campbell County).

However, the small lineup could benefit the Lady Quakers on the glass. Wilmington recorded 20 offensive rebounds, leading to 19 second-chance points, winning the first meeting this year, 76-65. Sophomore Courtney Tucker (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds in the victory.

One the season, Tucker is WC's top rebounding guard with 3.6 boards. Topp is leading the team with 6.9 rebounds, while leading scorer, Peters is adding 10.2 points and 6.0 rebounds. Sophomore Spencer Robles (Clyde, OH/Clyde) has slowed down a little bit, missing double figures in each of the last two games. She hasn't went three straight games without scoring digits all season, however, she has only scored at least 10 points in one of the eight games away from Hermann Court.
