With Otterbein, the second hottest team in the Ohio Athletic Conference, coming into Fred Raizk Arena at Hermann Court, the Wilmington College Lady Quakers will be looking to extend a winning streak of their own.  

The Lady Quakers have won three straight and eight of the last 10 as they prepare for a difficult stretch. After hosting the Cardinals, WC travels to No. 9 Ohio Northern and No. 24 Mount Union, which was ranked as high as second in the nation earlier this year.

"(Otterbein has) been very good since Christmas break, and even before that," said Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve. "They are a very athletic and the best transition team we've played all year. Anytime you can get lay-ups in transition, it makes your job a lot easier. Everyone on their team can run."

Scheve added that transition defense is one of the toughest aspects of the game, and Wilmington will have to continue working every day to improve.

"I don't think, as a head coach, you ever see your progress because you are never where you want to be," said Scheve. "With that being said, we are getting better; and we need to continue getting better."

Otterbein has won four straight, starting with a 71-60 victory over Baldwin-Wallace and most recently, a 64-39 dismantling of Capital. The Cardinals limited the Crusaders to their lowest point total of the season as both teams fell one game behind the Lady Quakers in third place of the OAC. With the stout defensive effort, Otterbein moved to third in scoring defense.

The Cardinals are led by the duo of senior forward Hannah Day and sophomore forward Tabatha Piper, whom have led the team in scoring in 10 of 13 games. Day scores a team-high 16.2 points with 6.1 rebounds, while Piper averages 11.6 points and 6.2 boards. Senior forward Rachel Snedgar comes off the bench with 9.3 points and a team-high 6.8 rebounds.

Junior Makenzie Wippel (Orient, OH/Westfall) is coming off her best game of the season, scoring 22 points with eight rebounds in WC's victory over John Carroll Saturday. It was third time this season she reached double figures and raised her scoring average from 4.0 ppg to 5.4 ppg.

Senior Brianna Peters (Alexandria, KY/Campbell County) is still leading the team with 10.5 points, while sophomore sharpshooter Spencer Robles (Clyde, OH/Clyde) is averaging 9.2 points.
