Academic All-Conference selections have at least a cumulative 3.5 grade-point average (GPA) at the end of the semester preceding the end of the spring season. The student-athlete must also be a member of a varsity team as well as be enrolled in a full-time capacity.
WILMINGTON, Ohio – The 2020 calendar year saw something that collegiate athletics has not experienced in a long time. Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Wilmington College, the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) and the NCAA as a whole shut down operations of intercollegiate athletics in March for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year.
The Wilmington College softball team closed out its spring trip with victories over two State University of New York Schools – 7-5 over Canton and 3-1 over Brockport – on Thursday.
The Wilmington College softball team won six-inning games on Tuesday, defeating Nazareth College (New York) 8-0 and Elms College (Massachusetts) 15-0 on day three of the team’s spring trip to Florida.
The Wilmington College softball team earned a pair of convincing victories – 13-0 over Anna Maria College in five innings and 9-3 over Alfred State University – on day two of its annual spring trip to Florida on Monday.
Wilmington will face two teams each day for five consecutive days from March 8-12. The schedule for the week, which can also be viewed in the graphic above, is as follows: Kenyon College and Curry College on March 8, Anna Maria University and Alfred State University on March 9, Nazareth College and Elms College on March 10, SUNY-Oneonta and Rochester Institute of Technology on March 11 and SUNY-Brockport and Rockford College on March 12.
The Fightin' Quakers' regular season begins in Fort Myers, Florida, and concludes at the WC Softball Complex for a Senior Day doubleheader with Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) rival Muskingum University.
Rupert, who added vice president for athletic administration to his title in 2007, will also remain in that role this semester as he transitions into becoming a full-time faculty member with the sport management program, which he started in 1998.
