NEW CONCORD – The Wilmington College men's track team won 10 events en route to winning the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference West meet Saturday with 161 points at Muskingum University.

"It was a really great day for the men," said head coach Ron Combs. "It was a complete team performance. We got a lot of points from wins, but we got a lot of critical points from athletes that don't normally score. I was very happy with our performances."

They were followed by Muskingum (145 points), Capital (117), Ohio Northern (82) and Heidelberg (73).

Freshman Jeremy Duncan (Cincinnati, OH/Archbishop Moeller) contributed three victories for the Quakers, while senior Mason Metts (Pomeroy, OH/Meigs) and sophomore Tyler Caudill (Jamestown, OH/Greeneview) added two event wins.

Duncan was victorious in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.18 and then won the 200 meter in 22.42. He was joined by sophomore Jake Sydnor (Batavia, OH/Clermont Northeastern), sophomore Derek Kilgo (Charlotte, NC/North Royalton) and freshman Leevi Stump (Mount Vernon, OH/Mount Vernon) to win the 4x100 meter relay.

The hurdling events were owned by Caudill as the sophomore claimed the 110 meters in 15.57, and then took the 400 meters in 56.63.

Coming off OAC Field Player of the Week honors, Metts didn't let up by winning the shot put and hammer throw for the second consecutive meet. The senior threw a distance of 51-11.25 on his third attempt in winning the shot, and then tosses a distance of 169-05 on his final attempt in the hammer throw for the win. He added a fifth place finished in the discus with a toss of 141-02.

Junior Christian Patterson (Cincinnati, OH/Norwood) set a new stadium record as he won the high jump with a jump of 6-10.25. The previous record was 6-06, set in 2012. Junior Alek Erwin (Springfield, OH/Northeastern) won the 1500 meters in 4:03.14.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Sydnor, Kilgo, junior Nate Godby (Goshen, OH/Goshen) and sophomore Jake Simpkins(Germantown, OH/Valley View) won the event by .20 of a second with the time of 3:25.50.

Wilmington travels to Louisville, KY on April 6 to compete in the Bellarmine Invitational.
