ADA – The Wilmington College men's distance medley relay smashed the school record on the first day of the Ohio Athletic Conference championships, and the Quakers are sitting in seventh place of the nine-team championships.

The team of juniors Brad Kline (Circleville, OH/Circleville), Nate Godby (Goshen, OH/Goshen) andAlek Erwin (Springfield, OH/Northeastern) joined sophomore Jake Simpkins (Germantown, OH/Valley View) on the DMR team that finished third in setting the school's new mark of 10:23.51. With the third place finish, the team earned All-OAC honors.

Senior Mason Metts (Pomeroy, OH/Meigs) finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 55-05.75, while Rickey Shafer added a point by finishing eighth in the pole vault clearing the distance of 14-02.50.

The women's team is currently ninth with 12 points after senior Liz Delehanty (Euclid, OH/Villa Angela-St. Joseph) nearly won the pole vault. Delehanty cleared a career-best distance of 11-00.25 without a miss. She missed her three attempts of 11-04.25.

On her final attempt, Otterbein's Jordan Long cleared the distance to win the event. If Long had missed, Delehanty would have earned the championship because of less misses.

Sophomores Tricia Steffen (Baltimore, OH/Liberty Union), Veronica Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond), Sarah Murphy (West Liberty, OH/West Liberty Salem) and Jenna Parlette (Miamisburg, OH/Miamisburg) finished fifth in the DMR to earn four points for the Lady Quakers.
