ONU downs Quakers in OAC tournament

ADA – The Wilmington College men's tennis lost to Ohio Northern 5-0 Tuesday in the opening round of the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament.


All three doubles teams were all shutout as the Polar Bears took a 3-0 lead. Josh Kincaid (Loveland, OH/Goshen) and Justin Arehart (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington) in first doubles; Connor LaVelle (Athens, OH/Athens) and Cullen Corcoran (Wilmington, OH/Clinton-Massie) in second doubles; and Ron Sansone (Norwood, OH/Norwood) and Antone Truss (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) in third doubles all lost 8-0.

After the first two singles matches were decided, Arehart in the first flight and Sansone in the fifth flight), giving Ohio Northern the victory – the rest of the matches was halted. Arehart lost 6-0, 6-0, and Sansone, 6-0, 6-0.

LaVelle was falling 6-0, 5-1 in second singles; Kincaid in third singles trailed 6-0, 5-1; Corcoran was losing, 6-0, 5-0, in fourth singles; and Truss was down, 6-0, 4-0, in sixth singles when the matches were called.
