Bibbs scores career-high 25 in loss

ADA – Senior Jonathan Bibbs scored a career-high 25 points, but it wasn't enough as the Wilmington College men's basketball team fell to Ohio Northern, 93-78, Wednesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action at the ONU Sports Center.

Bibbs shot 9-of-13 from the field and a perfect 7-of-7 from the foul line in tallying his career-high mark. He added three rebounds, one block and one assist.

Freshman Christian Jones (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton) scored 12 of his 16 points in the first half, while senior Ben McGriff (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek) tied his season high with 12 points.

Junior transfer Zach McCorkle (Cincinnati, OH/Winton Woods) pulled down a team-high five rebounds with two assists and two steals.

Ohio Northern led for nearly the entire game and shot 56.4 percent from the field. Wilmington shot 45.1 percent (23-of-51) from the field, and 89.7 percent (26-of-29) from the foul line.

Wilmington (5-8 overall, 2-5 OAC) returns home for the first time in nearly a month, hosting Muskingum 3 p.m. Saturday.
