NABC names Heard All-Great Lakes region

KANSAS CITY, MO – The National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) has released its all-region teams, and for the second straight day, men's basketball senior Malcolm Heard II earned the honor.

Heard (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington) was named first team All-Great Lakes Region. He is one of two OAC players on the NABC all-region teams.

He was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year after leading the league in both points (18.6) and rebounds (7.8). He helped lead the Fightin' Quakers to the 2014 OAC Tournament championship and the automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament. The 6-5 forward earned first-team honors from the OAC in the last three seasons.

He finished his collegiate career as the school's all-time NCAA-era scorer, and is third all-time in scoring with 1,577.

Wilmington finished the season 19-9 after falling in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 2 Washington University.
