MEN'S PREVIEW: Baldwin Wallace

For a team that comes into Saturday's game at .500, the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets are a very talented basketball team. So talented, they were picked to win the Ohio Athletic Conference in the preseason.

"They have three great players, but they have depth up and down their roster," said Wilmington head coach K.C. Hunt. "It's as talented a group we will play this year. We have to be really ready to go on Saturday. They are a very good rebounding team, and they have a point guard who really controls the game. They have the ability to score the basketball as evidence in their 98 points in their last game. They have pieces up and down their roster that are very good. For whatever reason, their record is what it is. They are a scary group. They have a lot of talent."

The Yellow Jackets have three players in the top seven on the league's scoring list, led by senior Kyle Payne. He is second in the league with 17.0 points and is sixth in rebounding with 6.6 points. However, after missing Wednesday's game with an injury his availability for Saturday's game in unknown.

Although without Payne, BW managed to score 98 points in a loss to Mount Union.

Junior Jaron Crowe may be the best player for Baldwin Wallace. Not only does he lead the OAC with 6.0 assists per game, he is third in the league with 16.8 points. In the loss to Mount Union, senior Kevin Krakowiak set a school record with nine three-pointers and tied a career-high with 36 points.

The Yellow Jackets' top three scorers account for 63 percent of the team total.

"We have to be really disciplined. You have to play with good principles and you have to take away tendencies," said Hunt. "You know Krakowiak is a great catch-and-shoot shooter, so you have to be there on the catch; same thing with (Grant) Fairhurst. You have to do your best to control Crowe early in transition. From there its about our toughness and urgency."
