MEN'S PREVIEW: Capital

The Wilmington College men's basketball team looks to continue its solid play at the Fightin' Quakers travel to Capital 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

For Wilmington, the goal is slowing down the Crusaders is focused on the play of Andrew Bolka. The forward grabbed eight rebounds, six of them on the offensive end, and scored a team-high 13 points. He is second on the team with 10.8 points per game and leads the team with 7.1 rebounds. However, the Crusaders have been without leading scorer A.J. Dixon for the last four games.

"They are a different team with no A.J. Dixon," said Wilmington head coach K.C. Hunt. "I think Michael Green is starting to surface for them off the bench, and we will see if he will start for them tomorrow. But their strengths are still Andrew Bolka in the middle and senior Ben Jackson is a creative, dynamic player. It's going to be a challenge in a real tough place to play.

"We gave (Bolka) six offensive rebounds," Hunt continued. "We have to match his physicality. He is a unique player because he is a right-handed player, but left-hand dominant. He is just a real good athlete, and a tough cover, so we are going to have to do a better job, be physical and keep him off the glass."

Not only much the Fightin' Quakers need to match the physical nature of Bolka, but the entire Capital team.

"I thought we did a good job of that in the first game, and that is why we controlled the game," said Hunt. "We have to do same things; make them play under pressure, make sure we limit second shot opportunities and push the tempo. We want to play faster than we did the first time."

Jackson is third on the team in scoring with 9.8 points, while Green is right behind him with 8.6 points. Not only was Dixon the team's leading scorer, he leads the team with 3.0 assists per game. Much of his play-making role will be handled by Adam Blake, who is second on the team with 2.9 assists.
