AUSTINTOWN, OH – Wilmington College football sophomore Jeremy Duncan has been named Ohio Athletic Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today (October 7), for his performance in Saturday's homecoming loss to Muskingum.

"I think it is a great honor for Jeremy to have been selected as Co-OAC Player of the Week," said Wilmington head coach Stacey Hairston. "I have been a part of the OAC for a long time, and it is not normal that someone gets named Player of the Week from a team that lost that week.  It makes what he accomplished on Saturday even more impressive;  eight catches for 327 yards and three touchdowns is absolutely amazing.  In most receivers dream, they don't have that kind of day.  It is a rare feat.  It just goes to show you how talented and dangerous this young man can be.  He is still growing as a wide receiver.  He has been blessed with a lot on natural talent.  Glad he is on our team."

Duncan (Cincinnati, OH/Archbishop Moeller) set an Ohio Athletic Conference and Wilmington College single-game record with 327 yards receiving. The previous OAC record of 322 yards was set by Heidelberg's Ryan Pifer in 1997, while the previous WC record of 275 yards was set by Darren Calvert in 1986.

The 6-5 receiver had touchdowns of 59, 80 and 85 yards, respectively, in the contest.

It's the first time a WC player has earned the league's offensive honor since quarterback Billy Blackburn earned the laurel October 29, 2007.

Coming off a freshman season in which he led the team with 24 catches for 405 yards, Duncan is having a breakout season. Through four games, he leads the OAC in receptions (35), yards (659) and yards per game (164.8). The 164.8 yards per game ranks Duncan second nationally.
