Football falls to Ohio Northern, 51-7

ADA, OH – The Wilmington College football team allowed touchdowns on five straight possessions en route to losing to Ohio Northern Saturday, 51-7.

After falling down 14-0, the Quakers responded with a 79-yard connection between junior quarterback Brandon Arehart (Wilmington, OH/Wilmington) and freshmanJeremy Duncan (Cincinnati, OH/Archbishop Moeller). It was Duncan's longest reception of his career and Wilmington's longest reception of the season.

Unfortunately, Wilmington couldn't get any closer as the Polar Bears rattled off four more first-half scores in securing the 41-7 halftime lead.

Four of Wilmington's six second-half drives were three plays or less, but the defense did a good job of keeping Ohio Northern out of the endzone. The Polar Bears added a touchdown in the third quarter and a fourth quarter field goal as time expired in the game.

Arehart finished the game 12-of-28 for 199 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Senior Tyrell Richardson(Columbus, OH/Centennial) had a team-high four catches for 66 yards.
