AUSTINTOWN — Wilmington College senior fullback Brett McEvoy and sophomore nose guard Donnie Ary have been named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference Football Team, the league office announced today. Both players were honorable mention selections.

"We are very proud of what Brett and Donnie were able to accomplish this season," Wilmington head coach Ken Minor said. "They are both outstanding football players and outstanding teammates."

McEvoy (Pickerington/Pickerington North) was the prototypical team player, willing to do whatever was needed to benefit the team.

"Even though Brett was a three-year starter, he took a great role of responsibility with our special teams this season," Minor said. "That sets him apart from a lot of players who think that special teams play will take away from their play on the offensive or defensive side. Brett also became more of an offensive weapon this year. He has great hands to catch the ball out of the backfield and did a nice job of running the ball. He always did a great job of blocking. He is just a well-rounded football player."

Ary (Jamestown/Greeneview) finished the season with 36 tackles, four of which were for losses. The sophomore also drew more double teams than any other Quaker.

"Double teams and triple teams," Minor said. "Being in the middle of our 3-4 defense is a tough battle and Donnie did a great job. He made it possible for other linemen and our linebackers to have success. We feel that he is as good a middle guard as there is in the league. He has all the qualities, but I think what sets him apart are his determination and desire. He really wants to get the job done. He also has a nasty streak, and when he is playing with that nastiness, he's one heck of a player."
