WAYNESBURG, Ohio – Ethan Cyrette and Seth Jermer both scored points for the Wilmington College wrestling team at the Waynesburg Invitational on Saturday.

Cyrette earned four points for the Fightin' Quakers in the 174-pound weight class by defeating Jeremy Moseley of Apprentice University by fall in six minutes. Cyrette battled in the quarterfinals and consolation fourth round, but fell to Tyler Redina of the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) by fall and Dan Henson of Apprentice by technical fall respectively.

In the 285-pound weight class, Seth Jermer bounced back from losses by fall and by decision to defeat Eric Higgs of Washington & Jefferson College by fall (4:36) in the first round of consolation.

"We saw some good competition today, but need to learn more positions as we move into the second half of the season," First-Year Head Wrestling Coach Justin Kihn said. "Every time we compete is an opportunity to get better."

As a team, the Quakers finished 18th out of 18 teams.

Wilmington will return to the mats at the Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester University next Saturday.
