Women's Lacrosse hosts Capital on Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team will take on Capital University at home on Wednesday, April 25 for the last home game of the season. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington is currently on a four-game skid and will be looking to get the first OAC win of the year. Capital has won four of its last five games in OAC play, coming off a victory from Heidelberg last Wednesday.

The Coaches: Taylor Martin is at the helm of Wilmington College in her first season. Martin spent her last two years as a graduate assistant at Castleton University where she received her master's degree in Athletic Leadership. Prior to her time at Castleton, Martin was the director of Lacrosse and Head Coach at a boarding school north of London. Martin competed for Berry College and started all four years as the goalie. In four short years, Stacey Wood has helped lay a strong foundation for Capital Women's Lacrosse and build an immediate competitor in the Ohio Athletic Conference and in the region. The program's rapid growth has led to much success enjoyed by her student-athletes both on and off the field. She will gear up for her fifth season as head coach in 2017-18.

The Players: Wilmington's offense has been led by Becca Petra so far this season. On the season, Petra has scored 26 goals and eight assists. Rachel Reinhart has accumulated 17 points this season, scoring 13 goals and four assists. Defensively, Wilmington is led by Goalie Meghan Wieloch who has picked up 203 saves on the season while Hannah Gratsch and Abby Engelhart have picked up 38 ground balls each. Capital's offense is led by the duo of Kathryn Walton and Kara Hines who have combined for 98 goals on the year. Goalie, Lisa Lotz has started all 12 games this season and has totaled 63 saves.
