Women's Lacrosse hosts Franciscan on Sunday for Senior Day

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team will host Franciscan in non-conference play on Sunday.  This contest the women's lacrosse team will be honoring its senior players. The game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.

The Seniors: Kara Griffith, Becca Petra, Abby Engelhart, Megan Wieloch.

The Teams: Wilmington and Franciscan. The Quakers stand at 2-11 overall this season and are looking to get back in the win column against Franciscan this weekend. The Barons are 6-5 overall and are coming off a loss to Ohio Wesleyan 13-10. 

The Coaches: Taylor Martin is at the helm of Wilmington College in her first season. Martin spent her last two years as a graduate assistant at Castleton University where she received her master's degree in Athletic Leadership. Prior to her time at Castleton, Martin was the director of Lacrosse and Head Coach at a boarding school north of London. Maura Conant is entering her sixth year as the women's lacrosse coach at Franciscan University. Conant has been with the Franciscan women's lacrosse program since it began in 2012.

The Players: Becca Petra and Rachel Reinhart have led Wilmington offensively as both have crossed the double-digit plateau in goals scored. Petra, who has netted 20 goals during her senior campaign, leads the Quakers in assists (six) and points (26). Abby Engelhart has a team-high 33 ground balls and 26 draw controls. The Barons offense is paced by Mary Krolicki who has a team-high 40 goals on the season. In goal, Brittany Bain has started all 11 contests and has accumulated 142 saves on the season.
