Women's Lacrosse Drops OAC Contest to Baldwin Wallace

WILMINGTON, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University scored seven goals in the first 10 minutes en route to a 21-3 victory over the Wilmington College women's lacrosse team in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action on Friday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets scored the game's first nine goals before Rachel Reinhart got the Fightin' Quakers on the board with a goal a player down at the 16:19 mark of the first half. Baldwin Wallace closed out the half with six goals to take the 15-1 lead into halftime.

Three more goals to open the second half but the Yellow Jackets ahead 18-1 until Becca Petra scored on a free position shot with 18:05 to play. Baldwin Wallace scored three of the game's final four goals with Rachel Brown netting the other goal for Wilmington.

Baldwin Wallace held a 52-13 edge in shots as well as a 42-16 advantage in ground balls. Wilmington successful cleared 9-of-25 attempts compared to 10-of-12 for the Yellow Jackets.

Individually, Caitlin Wheeler led the way with five goals and two assists for Baldwin Wallace. Hannah Albrechta added four goals and four assists. Petra, Reinhart and Rachel Brown scored goals for Wilmington.

Megan Wieloch took the loss for the Quakers in net despite making 26 saves on 47 shots.

Wilmington (2-7, 0-2 OAC) travels to Ohio Northern University on April 4.
