Women's Lacrosse Hosts Baldwin Wallace Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team will compete at home this Friday against Baldwin Wallace University. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington is coming off a tough loss against the University of Mount Union in the first conference game of the year. Balwin Wallace will be looking to bounce back after a non-conference loss to Denison University.

The Coaches: Taylor Martin is at the helm of Wilmington College in her first season. Martin is coming off her second career coaching win, against Earlham College. Martin spent her last two years as a graduate assistant at Castleton University where she received her master's degree in Athletic Leadership. Prior to her time at Castleton, Martin was the director of Lacrosse and Head Coach at a boarding school north of London. Martin competed for Berry College and started all four years as the goalie. Nicholle St. Pierre is entering her first season as head coach for the Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse program in 2017-2018. St. Pierre is no stranger to NCAA Division III lacrosse as she has served as the head coach at Wittenberg University for the past three seasons.

The Players: Wilmington's offense has been led by Becca Petra so far this season. On the season, Petra has scored 13 goals and four assists. Rachel Reinhart has accumulated 11 points this season, scoring eight goals and three assists. Defensively, Wilmington is led by Goalie Meghan Wieloch who has picked up 104 saves on the season while Hannah Gratsch and Abby Engelhart have picked up 21 and 27 ground balls, respectively. Balwin Wallace has an offensive attack paced by a trio of players. Cailin Wheeler leads the Yellow Jackets with 24 goals on the season, while Hannah Stein and Megan Patrick have scored 22 and 18 goals respectively. The defense is led by Taylor Giordanengo who has a team-high 15 caused turnovers on the season. Ashleigh Hildreth has seven starts in goal for the Yellow Jackets and she has accumulated 99 saves so far this season.
