Women's Lacrosse Drops First OAC Game Against Mount Union 28-0

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team lost Saturday 28-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opener against the University of Mount Union. Wilmington will host Olivet College on Wednesday, March 28 in non-conference action. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

Wilmington found itself outmatched against Mount Union's offensive firepower in both halves of play. The Purple Raiders put up 54 shots compared to Wilmington's two shots. Mount Union capitalized on 28 of those shots which turned into goals. Sydney Bumbarger led the way for the hosts scoring four goals on eight shots.

Megan Wieloch had 10 saves on the afternoon while Maidson Miller and Kara Griffith were able to pick up three ground balls each. Four different Quaker recorded caused turnovers throughout the game. Becca Petra had the two lone Wilmington shots.

Wilmington (2-6, 0-1 OAC) will host Olivet College in a non-conference game on Wednesday, March 28. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
