Women's Lacrosse Takes on Hiram Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College women's lacrosse team will compete in Hiram, Ohio this Wednesday. The Quakers will take on the Terriers of Hiram College and the game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington is coming off an impressive and decisive win against Mt. St. Joseph University on Wednesday, getting the first win of the season and improving its record to 1-3 overall. Adrian is coming off a three-game losing streak and will be looking to get its first win of the season.

The Coaches: Taylor Martin is at the helm of Wilmington College in her first season. Martin is coming off her first career coaching win, against Mt. St. Joseph University. Martin spent her last two years as a graduate assistant at Castleton University where she received her master's degree in Athletic Leadership. Prior to her time at Castleton, Martin was the director of Lacrosse and Head Coach at a boarding school north of London. Martin competed for Berry College and started all four years as the goalie. Hiram is led by Brianne Dishong who is in her second season as the head women's lacrosse coach. In her first season, she guided the Terriers to a 4-13 record. As a team, Hiram posted program records in shots (331), free position shots (106), goals (138), assists (21), draw controls (185) and clears (181).

The Players: Wilmington's offense has been led by Becca Petra so far this season. On the season, Petra has scored 10 goals and three assists. Rachel Reinhart has accumulated nine points this season, scoring six goals and three assists. Defensively, Wilmington is led by Goalie Meghan Wieloch who has picked up 70 saves on the season while Hannah Gratsch and Abby Engelhart have picked up 18 and 14 ground balls, respectively. Hiram's offense is led by Sierah Ray who has scored 22 goals and 4 assists on the season. Defensively, the Terriers are led by Tia Smith who has caused seven turnovers and picked up 10 ground balls.
