Beth Floyd

Beth Floyd, the winningest coach in Wilmington College softball history, enters her 16th season as head softball coach in 2023.

Floyd has served a number of other roles within the the athletics department including assistant director of athletics, associate director of athletics and senior woman administrator. She currently oversees the coaching minor as the program's top instructor.

Since arriving at Wilmington prior to the 2008 season, Floyd has led the Fightin’ Quakers to nine double-digit win campaigns as well as the program’s first winning season this century with a 20-16 record in 2013. Wilmington finished in a tie for seventh place in the rigorous Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) the following season, also a program best. Seven years later, Floyd guided the Quakers an 18-14 campaign and a seventh-place mark in OAC competition.

Twenty-two individuals have earned All-OAC recognition under Floyd’s watch including Danielle Monnier who garnered the OAC’s John Wells Pitcher of the Year Award in 2014. Five Quakers, including Monnier, have earned spots on the All-OAC First Team in Floyd’s tenure. Wilmington had never had a First Team All-OAC honoree prior to her arrival.

Floyd came to Wilmington from Fairfield High School where she was the director of athletics and head softball coach. She compiled a 171-73 record in nine years as while leading the Lions to four Southern Hills League (SHL) titles, nine sectional championships two district crowns and one appearance in the state quarterfinals. Floyd was named SHL Coach of the Year three times.

A 1993 graduate of University of Rio Grande, Floyd resides in Greenfield.
