Jessie Thomas

Jessie Thomas enters the first season of her second stint as an assistant coach with the Wilmington College softball program in 2024. She will work with Quaker pitchers on a volunteer basis alongside her full-time job in the WC Office of Admission.

Thomas is the College's primary recruiter for those interested in majoring in education and the humanities. She also is the admission liaison to the department of athletics.

In her first stint with the program, Thomas aided then-Head Coach Beth Floyd in guiding the Quakers to an 18-14 overall record, the program's second winning season in 20 years. Additionally, Wilmington's 6-12 OAC record is the second-best (8-10 in 2014) record in Wilmington's 19 years in the league. Two Quaker pitchers - Grace Shell and Hayley Suchland - garnered All-OAC honors under her tutelage.

Thomas came to Wilmington after a highly successful playing career at NCAA Division III member Bluffton University. A two way player, Thomas started in 110 games during her Beavers career. In the pitching circle, Thomas won 20 career games along with posting an earned run average (ERA) of under 2.50 in her first three seasons. As a hitter, she tallied 14 home runs.

A 2018 graduate of Bluffton, Thomas earned a degree in social work. She served as Vice President of Bluffton's Social Work Club for a year as well as interned at the Family Resource Center of Northwest Ohio for the last six months.

She resides in Wilmington with her husband Hayden, the football program's offensive coordinator.
