WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College softball team looks to snap a four-game losing skid on Wednesday as Otterbein University comes to campus for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) doubleheader slated to begin at 3 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Fightin' Quakers are 14-8 overall and 2-6 in OAC competition after falling in a defensive doubleheader at Baldwin Wallace University (BW) on Saturday. The Cardinals are 14-10 and 6-2 in league play after a sweep of Heidelberg University on Saturday.

The Coaches: Beth Floyd is in her 12th season as Wilmington's softball head coach. She is the winningest softball coach in school history and is also the College's associate director of athletics. Floyd has led the Quakers to seven double-digit win campaigns as well as the program's first winning season with a 20-16 record in 2013. Brooke Donovan, a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, is in her first season as Otterbein's head coach.

The Hitters: Hayley Suchland leads Wilmington in batting average as the freshman hits a .443 clip as well as leading the squad in hits with 31 and stolen bases with seven. KenDahl Bowles, Alecia Kemp and Allison Pierce have all driven in 14 or more runs. Pierce leads the team with eight doubles while Kemp has hit two home runs. Alyson Shawn leads the Cardinals in batting average (.388) and hits (31) while Savannah McCoppin and Courtney Hackney both hit over a .370 clip. Maria Herron has a team-best 16 RBIs for the Cardinals.

The Pitchers: Grace Shell leads the Wilmington pitching staff with a 1.55 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched after a two-hit, one-run loss at BW on Saturday. The sophomore, who has twice been named OAC Pitcher of the Week, has a 7-3 record and pitched nine complete games. Alexis String fellow carries a 2.97 ERA in 35.1 innings pitched as the Quakers' game two starter for most of the year. Gabby Johnson, the reigning OAC Pitcher of the Year, has 97 strikeouts in 90.2 innings for Otterbein to go along with a 2.62 ERA. Anna Edwards has a 3.98 ERA in 56.1 innings pitched.
