Men's Cross Country to Send Three to Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The Wilmington College men's cross country team had three individuals qualify for the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships as the NCAA announced the teams and individuals for the championships on Sunday.

Simon Heys, George Rickett and Noah Tobin were selected as individuals for the championships hosted by Olivet College in East Lansing, Michigan, next weekend. All three individuals earned All-Region honors at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional hosted by Hope College on Saturday. Heys finished second (24.228), Tobin placed 12th (24:35.7) and Rickett was 15th (24:43.3). As a team, the Quakers finished sixth, marking the program's highest finish at the regional meet.

Wilmington, since becoming an NCAA Division III member, has never sent more than one individual to the national meet. Heys was the individual as the Wilmington High School alumnus will look to build upon a fifth-place finish a season ago.

The eight-kilometer championships are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19.
