Men's Cross County Honored by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana - The Wilmington College men's cross county team was honored by the United States Track & Field and Cross County Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) for its accomplishments in the classroom.

"Our men's team had set this as a goal from the beginning of the season," Head Men's Cross County Coach Ron Combs said. "We have a great group of student-athletes and I'm very proud of their work both in the classroom and on the course. We are excited about where this program is headed."

The Fightin' Quakers earned the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team award for achieving an overall team grade point average of 3.10 on a 4.00 scale.

Evan Whitaker finished as the top freshman at the OAC Men's Cross County Championships last fall. The Grove City, Ohio, native placed 10th in the event with a time of 26:58.2.
