Men's Swimming Hosting ONU in Evening Dual Meet Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's swimming team hosts its first dual meet of the 2019-20 season on Friday when Ohio Northern University comes to the WC Natatorium for the teams' annual evening dual meet. The first event is slated to begin at 6 p.m.

The Coaches: Trip Breen is in his 20th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recently in the 2016-17 season. Austin Veltman is in his second season as ONU's head swimming and diving coach.

Who to Watch: Isak Alin, an All-OAC honoree last season, was one of two Fightin' Quakers to win an event in the season-opening dual meet at Baldwin Wallace University. The sophomore won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 55.88 seconds while also claiming runner-up honors in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.74). Samuel Shanes also won an event in Berea – the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:29.73). Logan Schroer also took second in two events - the 50-yard freestyle (23.62 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle (50.98 seconds).
