Following a four-year playing career with the program, Nils Asteberg enters his second year as an assistant men's soccer coach at Wilmington College in 2019.
He assisted Head Coach Alex Van der Sluijs in guiding the Fightin' Quakers to a 9-8-0 campaign in 2018. Additionally, Asteberg mentored Niklas Martensson to one of the best individual offensive performances in the NCAA era (1991-present).
Asteberg started in 69 of a possible 73 games during his career wearing the Green and White. He scored two career goals while dising out four assists along with aiding the Fightin' Quakers' back line for four seasons.
A native of Ojersjo, Sweden, Asteberg played for three different clubs - Ojersjo IF, Ojersjo IS, Jonsered IF - during his prep career.
Asteberg resides in Wilmington.
