Jeffery Barnett enters his first year as an assistant football coach at Wilmington College in 2019.
Barnett comes to Wilmington from Trine University (Indiana) where he was a standout in both football and track & field. On the gridiron, Barnett hauled in 160 receptions as a four-year starting wide receiver to go along with 22 touchdowns. He averaged nearly 70 yards receiving per game on a Thunder squad that won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) title the last two years with a combined win-loss record of 21-2 during that stretch. Barnett achieved All-American status once in his career and holds nine school records in football.
In track & field, Barnett won eight total MIAA championships (four indoor and four outdoor) including finishing as national runner-up in the long jump three times. His name is in the Thunder record books three times in track & field.
Barnett resides in Wilmington.
