Football Returns Home to Host Baldwin Wallace Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College football team returns home after two weeks on the road to face Baldwin Wallace University (BW) on Saturday. Kickoff for the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) is slated for 1:30 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and BW. The Quakers are 1-5 overall and 0-5 in OAC competition after falling at undefeated Marietta College 63-21 on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets are 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the OAC after a 44-7 triumph over Muskingum University on Saturday. BW's lone loss is to No. 1 The University of Mount Union, 56-21 on Sept. 15.

The Coaches: Bryan Moore, a 1999 graduate of Hiram College, begins his second season leading Wilmington's football program. Moore began instilling his vision on WC last year which led to victories over Earlham College and Capital University. Previously, he spent time at both Bluffton University and Heidelberg University. Jim Hilvert, previously the head coach at Thomas More College, is in his second season leading the BW program.

The Offense: Kyle Barrett guides the Wilmington offense as he averages over 225 yards per game through the air along with throwing for a dozen touchdowns. DJ Chambers leads the rushing effort with 238 yards for an average of 47.6 yards per contest. Ace Taylor and Luke Richardson have been Barrett's top two receiving threats as Taylor averages 60.6 receiving yards per game while Richardson has caught five touchdown passes. Jake Hudson averages 241 yards through the air for BW including throwing for 13 touchdowns compared to just three interceptions. A trio of Yellow Jackets – Jordan Leverette, Rob Wolfington and Chad Steinwachs – all has at least 20 receptions and three touchdowns. Jon Murray Jr. rushes for an average of 76 yards per game for the BW rushing attack.

The Defense: Tre'Quez Parks leads Wilmington defensively with 45 tackles for an average of 7.5 per contest. Weston Trampler, who has 26 tackles on the season, leads the team with four sacks while Parks Dusty Lykins and Tywon Berry all have interceptions for the Quakers. Royon Washington, Kyle Ackley and Tavion Bryant all join Parks with over 30 tackles. Josh Liberati has 33 tackles for the BW defense while Wezlee Spence has a team-high 7.5 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss.
